Laughter is a part of human behavior regulated by the brain and is sometimes seemingly contagious, taking only one person to provoke laughter from others as a positive feedback. The study of humor and laughter, and its psychological and physiological effects on the human body, is called gelotology, which has led to new and beneficial therapies practiced by doctors, psychiatrists, and other mental health professionals using humor to treat a variety of physical and psychological issues.
We have all heard the saying “laughter is the best medicine”, but I like the statement by the French philosopher who went by the pen name Voltaire, “The art of medicine consists of keeping the patient amused while nature heals the disease.”
The effects of laughter’s releasing hormones and endorphins in the human body can build the immune system, lower stress and provide a distraction to the serious issues that life and illness can present.
In my research on this word, I had several good laughs and that seemed to lighten the whole day. The word that defines the study of laughter seemed so laughable that my laughter took over when I watched a video with infant quadruplets laughing at their father, I nearly lost control (tee hee)!
I continued to laugh through my whisper research as I discovered different therapies built around laughter, such as Laughter Yoga and Laughter Meditation. I became hysterical! So enjoy a good laugh today to feel the effects of bringing joy and healing vibrations together with a chance to simply lighten up. In the energy of laughter, let’s take a moment to engage in a whisper from the angels:
The human experience offers many wide-ranging opportunities to explore the deep mysteries of life. Due to the challenges presented in the physical and material world, laughter can be overlooked as the gateway to your joy, love and happiness.
One’s ability to laugh at themselves presents everyone with an opportunity to subdue the voice of ego, bringing clarity and in some cases illuminating the truest light of a situation or circumstance. Bringing balance through laughter can facilitate a profound release of thought patterns and paradigms, resulting in the removal of obstacles that may be preventing or blocking you from your Divine life-purpose.
If you can find ways to infuse the energy of compassion combined with laughter into difficult life issues, your perspective can be altered to assist you in finding alignment with the true nature of your essence. The path to unconditional love and acceptance is found in your joy and purpose. Laughter illuminates that path and allows your guardians and guides to communicate nurturing messages.
The healing energies of the Mother Earth and the benefit of partnerships with the angels are fortified by the physical relationship between humans and Divine Source. That physical thread of connection is anchored in breath with strength and courage generated in the depth of meaning within each exhale and inhale. Exhaling the breath of laughter brings forward the gift of passionate joy, forming a bridge between spirituality and the vibrations of the Cosmic Heart.
